Simona Wright received her Laurea in German Literature from Ca’ Foscari University (Venice, Italy), and her Ph.D. in Italian Literature from Rutgers. Her research and teaching interests are focused on Italian language (and Second Language Acquisition) and on 19th- and 20th-century Italian literature, Italian Studies, Post-colonial and Cultural studies. She has published a volume on Italo Calvino (1998), and has published extensively on Italian women writers, Italian poetry, and the literature of migration. She is the Editor of NeMLA Italian Studies. Her present research is focused on Italian studies, Post-colonial studies, and on Giacomo Leopardi.
