Business Certificates in Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Japanese

Highly-proficient students may be able to earn credit by exam for some courses, which may shorten the time to completion.

Chinese Business Certificate Pathway

The Chinese for Business certificate equips students with language and intercultural competence in preparation for careers in business, international business, international relations, education, interpreting, and other related fields.

  • Prerequisites: CHI301 or language placement at CHI302 or higher; or AP Chinese score of 5

CHI370 (when the topic is Popular Culture in Contemporary China) or CHI 371 TOPICS IN CHINESE-Contemporary Chinese Society (ENGLISH)

  • Covers Core Requirements for Literary, Visual, and Performing Arts

INTB260

French Business Certificate Pathway

The French for Business certificate equips students with language and intercultural competence to prepare for careers in business, international business, international relations, education, and interpreting. The certificate consists of three core courses beyond the elementary French sequence, with one core French for Business course.

German Business Certificate Pathway

The German for Business certificate equips students with language and intercultural competence in preparation for careers in international business, science and technology, research and development, and international relations. The certificate consists of three core courses beyond the elementary German sequence, with at least one core German for Business course.
