Welcome to the Spanish Program

The Spanish Program at TCNJ offers exciting classes in Spanish from the beginning to the advanced level.
Elementary Spanish Syllabi (101-103)
Our Spanish faculty hail from many countries and are committed to providing quality, student-engaged instruction in Spanish.

Students who opt to take courses beyond the beginning level can complete a Spanish minor, with 5 courses at the intermediate and advanced level. For information on the Spanish minor, please go to the Undergraduate Bulletin (Click on ‘Humanities & Social Sciences,’ then on ‘World Languages and Cultures’ and search for ‘Requirements for the Minor’).

Bilingual students can also take Spanish for Heritage Speakers.

Many students, regardless of whether they are majors or minors in Spanish, take advantage of the many study abroad options in Spanish-speaking countries. Students have studied in Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla, Valencia SPAIN, as well as in Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA, Valparaiso, CHILE, San José, COSTA RICA, Lima, PERU, and other fascinating places.

TCNJ runs its own immersion programs with TCNJ faculty in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) during the Spring, and in Madrid, Spain, during the summer.

The Spanish Club meets regularly and plans exciting activities for its members and the campus community.

There is a TCNJ chapter of the Spanish National Honor Society, Sigma Delta Pi, which has been recognized for its excellence and the achievement of TCNJ students.
